Spending at least 120 minutes a week in nature is associated with good health and wellbeing
White et al., 2019 · Scientific Reports
What they found
People who spent 120 minutes or more in nature in the past week were more likely to report good health and high wellbeing than those who spent none. Benefits seemed to level off around 200-300 minutes, and it didn’t matter how the time was split up.
Limits
A snapshot survey with self-reported answers. It shows a link, not that nature time causes better health, since healthier people may simply get outside more.
How we use it
We track your nature hours and aim well above two a week.
